How to dress baby at night?
Sleeping bag, pyjamas and bedroom temperature: our advice on dressing baby at night according to the season and ensuring peaceful, comfortable sleep.
BEDROOM TEMPERATURE
It is important to find the right temperature to ensure baby sleeps as peacefully as possible. During the first months of their lives, babies do not regulate their body temperature properly, so for gentle, healthy nights, it is advisable to keep their bedroom at a temperature between 18° and 20°. The ideal temperature would even be 19°.
WINTER NIGHTS
To keep baby warm throughout the night and prevent them from getting cold, we recommend dressing baby in:
- A long-sleeved Body that will keep their tummy and arms well protected. For the youngest babies, we recommend choosing a wrap-over Body or crossover Body, which will be easier to put on baby.
- Footed pyjamas with an opening at the crotch for younger babies or a back opening for older children. We recommend choosing velvet pyjamas. Tartine et Chocolat ensures soft, thick velvet for baby’s comfort
- A sleeping bag that will bring softness and warmth to your baby
- A beanie for baby’s first nights and if the temperature is cool
SUMMER NIGHTS
During the summer, it is more difficult to keep baby’s bedroom at an ideal temperature, but it is important to dress baby as they rarely tolerate being without clothing. You should therefore adapt baby’s outfit to the temperature with:
- A short-sleeved Body
- Lightweight cotton jersey pyjamas
- A summer sleeping bag
In the event of heat exceeding 26°, it is advisable to leave baby in a Body. You can then choose our Bodies, designed to offer absolute comfort throughout the night.
