Repair Bonus
A repair bonus for textiles and shoes was introduced by the Government on 7 November 2023. When you visit an approved repairer, a discount is applied directly to your bill for repairing the heel of your shoes or patching a hole in your clothing, for example.
What does the bonus cover?
The bonus is a discount on your bill when you have a garment or pair of shoes repaired by a professional. This discount covers up to 60% of the repair cost, representing savings of between €6 and €25.
Here are some examples of shoe repairs:
- €8 off fitting a protective sole
- Between €10 and €14 off replacing a zip
- Between €18 and €25 for resoling.
For clothing:
- €7 off repairs to a hole or tear
- Between €8 and €15 off replacing a zip
- Between €10 and €25 for replacing a lining.
Where can I have my items repaired?
This is carried out by Refashion-certified craftspeople, tailors and cobblers (around 500 are currently certified).
