Baby's bath: our advice

HOW TO WASH BABY?

Baby's bath is a special moment of bonding between parents and their baby. During bath time, support baby's head so they do not slip into the water and feel safe. It is not necessary to bathe baby every day; a bath every other day is enough. However, to maintain baby's hygiene and health, make sure to clean baby's body every day and wash their face, neck, underarms, hands and little pleats with water and soap for sensitive skin.

BATH WATER TEMPERATURE

To make baby's bath a truly enjoyable time for fun and discovery, it is important to heat the bath water to 37°C; using a thermometer is recommended. For safety, you can also check the water temperature with your elbow. During the first few months, babies do not regulate their body temperature properly, so the bathroom should always be heated before bath time to keep baby warm while washing. Water was baby's natural environment during mum's pregnancy; to recreate this cocoon and for safety, the bath should be filled to a depth of 10cm so that baby can touch the bottom of the bathtub.

AFTER BATH TIME

After baby's bath, gently lay baby on the changing mat. For extra comfort and softness, you can cover the changing mat with one of our beautifully decorated covers. To prevent baby from getting cold after bath time, the bath cape is an essential part of a newborn's layette. A delicate, soft bath cape that allows baby to be wrapped in a cosy cocoon. Made from soft cotton, the bath cape helps keep baby's skin soft, prevents irritation and keeps baby warm while drying and dressing them. You can also dry baby with a soft towel before dressing them in their lovely clothes.

PREPARING BABY

Once clean and dry, prepare baby with our bath accessories designed for your newborn. For holidays, pack their toiletry bag as well as the nappy bag with all baby's products, and slip in one of our blankets to keep them warm during the journey.
